Dialogue at the BaseThe Guiana Space Centre is home to 26 companies and agencies, each with different roles, operational constraints and social practices. But it is also a group of people working towards the same objective...
...and with the same concerns. After all, aren't these organisations all involved in the Ariane adventure? And aren't their employees all working at the same rhythm in the countdown to launch day? In 1990, this shared culture was acknowledged on a social level by two important milestones: firstly the introduction of an inter-company collective agreement which harmonised the social policies in force across the entire site, and secondly the creation of a consultation organisation for employers: the Space Base Employers Aided by the Base Industrial Relations manager (RSB), who chiefly provides human resource management support via the Local Skills Bureau (BLC), the UEBS works to promote permanent social dialogue between the companies and social partners (management and workers), with a dual objective: to ensure harmonised working conditions for employees at the Base, and to further the integration of Space activities in French Guiana. An important factor in maintaining social harmony at CSG.
