Range safety

Like any industrial workplace, the Guiana Space Centre has to take all possible safety measures, with special attention being paid to satellite transfer, fuelling procedures and the danger of a launch vehicle exploding in flight. All possible scenarios are imagined and studied to ensure maximum safety during each operation, whether before or during launch. To this end, the Range Safety and Environment Department prepares and implements measures for protecting life, property and the environment.
