Soyuz Consultation Committee

Director of Roscosmos, Anatoli Perminov mainly came to CSG to meet the CNES and persons in charge for the Soyuz project in French Guiana and to take note of actual work progress on the realization of the mobile gantry.

The Soyuz Consultative Committee which associates Roscosmos (the Russian space federal Agency), the European Space Agency (ESA), the French Space Agency (CNES) and Arianespace joins together at the Guiana Space Centre on May the 11 and 12, 2010.

This meeting was called to take note of actual work progress on the Soyuz Launch Pad at the Guiana Space Centre and aslo to approve the overall timetable for assembly and testing leading up to the the inaugural launch.

This meeting is also the occasion to welcome on the French Guiana ground Mr. S.B. IVANOV, Vice Prime Minister of the government of the Federation of Russia and A.N. Perminov, the Director of Roscomos.

TUESDAY MAY THE 11th:

Visit of Soyuz launch pad

The European and Russian delegation carried out by Mr. Perminov (Roscosmos), Jean-Jacques Dordain (ESA), Yannick d' Escatha (CNES) and Jean-Yves Gall (Arianespace) discovers the Soyuz launch pad. Here, in front of the arms of the system of launching and the well launcher

 

Down the well

Inside the well of the launcher, Yannick d' Escatha (President of CNES) and the european and russian delegation note the progress of the work of the Tetrahedron,  part of the solid mass of launching.

 

Brief of actual work progress on mobile gantry

The interpreter explained to the delegation the point of advance of the structure of the mobile gantry whose assembly is practically completed. The roof should  complete the assembly of  this structure also including overhead travelling crane and boarding.

 

A special stamp for Soyuz

During this visit, a special stamp on Soyuz in French Guiana was revealed to the delegation in the presence of the mayor of Sinnamary, Jean-Claude Madeleine. This stamp will be officially emitted in June in France, in the presence of French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Dimitri Medvedev,  president of the Federation of Russia.

 

Meeting of Soyuz consultation committee

The Soyuz consultation committee met in Kourou, associating Roscomos,  ESA, Arianespace  CNES. It aimed to note of actual progress on the Soyuz launch pad at the Guiana Space Centre and to approve the overall timetable for assembly and testing leading up to the inaugural launch would take place during the fourth quarter of 2010.
