Successful mission for Herschel & Planck

Another successful launch for Ariane 5 ECA

May 14 2009, at 10:12 (Kourou time), 15h12 (Paris time), the European launcher put into orbit the two satellites dedicated to the observation of the Universe, Herschel and Planck.

Manufactured by Thales Alenia Space for the European space Agency, these two satellites of astronomy belong to the scientific ESA program.

This launch was the 2nd of the year and the 30th success in a row for ARIANE.

The results of these two missions are awaited impatiently by the European scientific community.
