Competition for schoolchildren

As the aim of the International Year of Astronomy is to stimulate the interest of the general public, and young people in particular, the French Guiana IYA2009 steering committee is organising a competition in science and art entitled “Make your own Solar System” which will be open to Guyanese schoolchildren aged from 7 to 11.

The competition will be launched on 3 February.

Competition for the general public

- This involves photographing the constellations in the sky above French Guiana, and accompanying them with a text, story or poem "Photogrpah your sky". This competition will be launched in July 2009.
