Visiting the Final assembling building (BAF)

Greeted at the final assembly building (BAF) by Jean-Yves Legall, Nicolas Sarkozy had a reminder performance of Ariane 5 recent years. The president of Arianespace, gave him a presentation of the European launcher, helped by panels set up for the occasion, not hesitating to include the fact that since its conception, Ariane has boosted into orbit 254 satellites for 66 clients.

...and the S5 (payloads building)

In the filling hall of the EPCU S5B and with a clear view of the imposing cargo ATV Jules Verne, Jean-Jacques Dordain, ESA Director, presented to the President, the automatically “rendezvous" European system with the International Space Station (ISS), describing it as "indispensable" as a "unique technology that possess neither the Russians nor the Americans."

At the Jupiter Control Centre

All current operationals are at their control desk and for the occasion, simulate an accelerated positive chronology launch. Thierry Vallée, Director of Operations of the V181 - ATV campaign, explains to the President, very attentive, the images being projected onto the operational wall of images.

The speech in Jupiter

While employees of the Base centre were in the “Max Hauzeur” room or in the Launch Centre nr 3 (CDL3) to listen to the President’speech or in the various rooms designed for this purpose at the CNES Toulouse, Paris and Evry), Nicolas Sarkozy spoked from Jupiter Room to many local politicians, European and local manufacturers.
