Energy-Air-conditioning
This activity includes power production plants and air-conditioning stations for all CNES/CSG sites. The main ones are at the Technical Centre at the EPCU, at the ELA and at remote stations (Galliot, Leblond, Montabo).
* Pollution:
- air-conditioning: use of freon, a refrigerating fluid, which destroys the ozone layer
+ risk of spillage of oils from air-conditioning plants
- electric generators: outgassing (CO2, SO2, etc.), risk of oil and diesel fuel leaks
* Procedures introduced:
- recovery of freons
- collection and treatment of industrial products and waste
- retaining tanks under the electric generators and under the tanks where the diesel fuel is
stored; rejects sent into a hydrocarbon separator
- retaining tanks under the oil transformers
