The Natal station

Bathed in emerald waters, Natal is a Brazilian seaside resort, encircled by sand dunes and reefs.  Located 20 km from the town, this Brazilian station, whose local name is Centro de Lançamento de foguetes da Barreira do Inferno (Barrier of Hell Launch Centre), is primarily dedicated to Brazilian rocket launches.  Under an agreement signed between ESA and the Brazilian government, the Brazilian Defence Department operates the telemetry station on behalf of CNES.
