Telemetry


Measuring from a distance. This is how telemetry can be defined.

 

Briefly, telemetry involves gathering all the information transmitted by the launcher, from lift-off until the end of the mission. This ultimately corresponds to more than 1,500 parameters, each of which is an indicator, to ensure that all of Ariane's systems are working correctly.

In order to do this, regardless of the direction of launch, the Telemetry mission consists in implementing and coordinating the network required for successfully acquiring the TLM signal (telemetry) using a number of different antennas.  Although the signal is initially acquired by the Galliot site at the Guiana Space Centre, a whole network of downrange stations along the launcher's trajectory are required to continue receiving the signal.  These are sometimes assisted by other mobile facilities ...
