Outreach actions

CNES contributes a lot to local associations of which there are many in French Guiana.

This support also includes sports meets and cultural events: the Space marathon, the Ariane cross-country race and the Tour de Guyane cycle race are among the not-to-be missed events. The air meet at Javouhey, the trans-Amazonian events, the Kayenne Botanic Jazz festival and Danser la Ville are also examples of some of the projects financed by CNES.

In 2004-2005 in particular, CNES/CSG was able to support :

For certain associations, CNES/CSG makes its premises, fields, sports facilities or equipment available, all of which are part of CNES property and real estate.

In addition to these aids, major projects may receive support under the terms of the CNES annex to the State/Region Plan Contract or via specific arrangements through local development organisations or agreements between CNES and local Guiana authorities.
