Crisis Unit
In an accident situation, the Crisis Unit evaluates the emergency and takes immediate steps to protect endangered lives and facilities. It also informs the Director of the CSG and the local authorities, ensures that communications remain open and defines a strategy for a return to normal.
In a crisis the Unit brings together all departmental managers to identify a problem, implement an emergency plan and return to normal as quickly as possible. In the event of a major accident occurring, the Préfet implements a special plan calling upon both internal and external resources (state representatives from the Préfecture, the military, the gendarmerie etc.). Training and simulation exercises are held at regular intervals to facilitate team work and above all to ensure that the various agents (firemen, range safety, Préfecture etc.) apply all procedures correctly.
