French Minister at the Guiana Space CentreOn January the 30th, the French Minister for National Education Luc Chatel, visited the installations of the Guiana Space Centre and received a progress report on the various actions of the CNES/CSG to raise awareness among young people about Space activities, support teachers in their educational projects, and improve the general public's image of CNES/CSG in particular, and Space activities in general.

Space debrisFor a long time, little attention was paid to the subject of Space debris, but recent events have thrust the issue into the foreground and it has become a serious problem for stakeholders in Space exploration. Although no-one has yet come up with a solution to the problem, we can nonetheless limit the amount of debris we produce. There is as yet no obligation, legal or otherwise regulating the subject, but a consensus is beginning to emerge in favour of recommendations and a good conduct code.
